How Much Notice For A Day Off?

For taking an (unpaid) personal day, how much notice do you give?

Do you think 2 weeks is enough notice? Or do you give more?

On the flipside, I require my parents to give me 2 weeks notice of any absences to get a half rate (I fill the spots 95% of the time as backup care/drop ins so its financially beneficial to me to give half rates as parents give me notice that way).

I give two weeks at a minimum. I usually give 4-6 weeks notice. I think two weeks is enough notice.

I usually give a month, but I think two full weeks would give parents time to make arrangements for a day. They may need more time if they want to take a personal day at work, tho.

I try to give as much time as I can. If I know six months in advance, I let them know. Some parents have a harder time getting time off. I try to treat them the way I would want to be treated, (even if it's not reciprocated).

As soon as I know about it. At least 2 weeks, but sometimes things come up unexpectedly. I give out a schedule at the beginning of the year with all my planned days off (holidays, vacations, appointments) and early closings that I know about. I add in that there some appts that haven't been made yet and I will let them know asap

I have in my handbook that I will do my best to give 2 weeks notice. (Emergencies sometimes do come up.)
In practice, I tell my parents as far out as I can to give them time to plan, since I do not provide backup care.

In my contract I state at least a 7 day notice, but in practice I often give it 2 months in advance (aside from sick days in which I have to close).
