Obviously this dcm has little respect for her provider, since talking to her about her child is NOT her priority.
I also like kids. The parents? Not so much. Talking to parents exhausts me, in all honesty. Most of it has to be redirected back to their child. I hear way too much personal stuff. Way too much about their day.
It's really NOT personal.
This is one of the reasons why I envy teachers. Less parent interaction. Most of what I say goes in one ear and out the other anyway. I dislike wasting my time/energy. Last year our local schools locked down so parents can't even walk to the classrooms to drop off and pickup their children. I know several teachers (friends, family and a former dcm) they ALL love it. Less conferences.
