Yeah, when I drop my kiddos off at daycare in the mornings I am always glad when my provider is on the phone. Then i dont have to talk to her.

I couldnt imagine bringing my kids to someone who is glad she doesnt have to talk to me. :confused:

Obviously this dcm has little respect for her provider, since talking to her about her child is NOT her priority.

I also like kids. The parents? Not so much. Talking to parents exhausts me, in all honesty. Most of it has to be redirected back to their child. I hear way too much personal stuff. Way too much about their day. It's really NOT personal.

Ahh don't take it personally. I have had hundreds of thousands of arrivals and departures over a twenty year career. Yours is just one more. It's special to you but to us it's a task. It's not an unbearable task. Just a task we have done thousands of times. If we don't have anything important to ask or tell it is easier if you drop and run or pick up and run.

This is one of the reasons why I envy teachers. Less parent interaction. Most of what I say goes in one ear and out the other anyway. I dislike wasting my time/energy. Last year our local schools locked down so parents can't even walk to the classrooms to drop off and pickup their children. I know several teachers (friends, family and a former dcm) they ALL love it. Less conferences.
