A dcm just had a baby. I have watched her older child for over a year. I am going to visit and would like to bring a gift for the new baby, the older child and mom. I want to get something nice for each but do not have a lot of money to spend. I was thinking of cooking a meal to bring so mom would not have to cook one night for dinner. Any suggestions for an inexpensive meal I can cook and some inexpensive gifts?

Are there any food allergies or sensitivities you need to consider? A casserole in one of those aluminum pans that you can toss after use is a great gift for a mom with a newborn and a toddler. Food but no dishes. Perhaps homemade mac and cheese? Soup is also a great meal to give, especially if you bring some artisan bread to go with it. If you have the time and the inclination, you could bake some cookies or little cupcakes for dessert. And dollar stores have lots of small and inexpensive gifts for young kids, like coloring books and crafting materials. Hope this helps! -
Maybe pasta since it reheats easily...ziti and meat sauce in a foil pan that she could pop in the oven?Comment
