    Lesson Learned

My licensor always told me if the kids bring diaper bags from home keep them out of reach because you never know what's in them. Well I do keep those out of reach but dcb 2.5 brings a back pack every day with diapers and extra clothes. Sometimes he will empty it and fill it with books and play school. Well today he was emptying it and pulled out two blister packs of adult cold medicine. It was close to pickup time when this happened so I was still fuming when dad got here. He got an ear full and was told dcb is no longer allowed to bring anything from home. He can bring what he will need for the week on Monday. Do these parents not pay attention to what these kids are doing at home. Sometimes I wonder how they survive the weekends. Needless to say either my policies will change or everything from home will be out of reach.

    whew!

No backpacks or baby bags here, either. Each child has a drawer here for diapers, change of clothes, etc. No need to bring anything back and forth that way.

No more diaper bags here either, learned that the hard way when I turned around and dcg was sitting there with every medicine under the sun that she pulled out of her bag! Mom had so much in there even though it is not allowed and stated in my handbook. Benadryl, Tylenol, Advil, cold medicine, allergy medicine, creams of every kind! I had never even looked in the bag because I don't need it and told the parents I had everything I need in the cubby but they brought it anyway. That was the last time a bag came through my door!

Mom said "Oh I like to be prepared!" I told her she had to keep it in her car or leave it at home
