That when you are down to the last kid of the day who talks incessantly...you vacuum just so your don't have to hear her talking? That you try not to look at the clock too often because it seems to make time go slower. That you run to the window every time you think you hear a car? That you put obstacles (today, the vacuum cleaner and hose) in the way so big brother can't come in and start playing with toys. That you put your purse and keys in an obvious place to signal you have somewhere to go. That when they walk in you say, bye bye sweetie as soon as dad walks in to signal it's time to go. Oh yes, it's been a long day!

Sometimes when I am down to my last one, we will wait outside on the front porch. As soon as the parent gets out of the car, I walk the child off of the porch and into the driveway. I make sure the parent has the child, tell them goodbye, walk inside, and shut the door. No time for small talk or running around my house when your child is handed to you in the driveway!

My mom was over visiting today, and after about 1 hour, she said she could never do my job, and that she had a migraine. One dcg in particular would NOT stop talking all afternoon. I've got to start vacuuming at the end of the day - the perfect solution

..... Oh that last sitting child sometimes can make 10 minutes be the longest part of your day. Then add non stop talking to the mix...... where is the eject button... jk

:::: YES! I have a 7yo dcb that is the same. Talks just to hear himself talk. I never thought of running the vacuum, good idea!! I dread that summer is coming, and I will have to listen to it all day.
