    I LOVE Buying Used

Today, I went to check out some used daycare center furniture. It was out on a farm in a barn. At first my paranoia kicked in, I thought about movies like Wrong Turn, Jeepers Creepers and Hostel.

When they opened up the barn it was wall to wall daycare cabinets, evacuation cribs and tables for awesome prices. Owner has closed down a lot of his centers. I’ll go back next week to grab an evacuation crib for $50.

Almost all of my dc toys are used. I like to go to garage sales in the summer to see what kind of goodies I can find!

Same here! The place I went to was a gold mine for daycares. $25 for heavy duty “Lakeshore type” tables and cubbies and cabinets.

I purchased tunnels & a table (kids will not be moving this one).

Where are you located? I wish I could find a barn like that! But then again, we've been very lucky. In the almost 3 years we've been opened we've bought stuff from 3 daycares that closed, and 2 auctions that had daycare stuff (one was brand new stuff from a store that closed). The rest of our stuff has been from yard sales. We've barely bought anything brand new at all!

OMG those evac cribs are like $350 on lakeshore. I was going to get one but then I looked at the price I almost passed out.

I know. Hence I am going back next Sunday to buy at least one. What state are you in? And if you want to keep that private I totally understand.

We call our basement "Craig" because all most everything for the day care was either bought from garage sales, auctions or craigslist. I can't remember ever buying new.
                      I see little people.

Me too!!! Craigslist has saved me literally thousands so far-- if you check it religiously, people practically GIVE stuff away. I got a $1700 portable sink for $500--brand new still in the box!! And another gently used one for $275. I could go on all day on the great deals I have gotten used. It's time consuming but soooo worth it.

look at your states standards for items before buying-
cribs/pack and plays being a major one.
