    Nap Time Question

okay, what do you do for the kids that don't always nap? I've always had nappers. I have one girl that sometimes naps so I'm letting her look at books on her mat (After having her lay there about 40 minutes). Should I let her get up or do you have them all stay on their mats even when they are awake?

Also, do you allow whispering? Like to themselves? I'm thinking that won't wake up the kids but I just have one other one today so they aren't close to each other.

Also what are some good nap time activites?

I have coloring stuff, books, foam puzzles, what else do you have?

Well, if they are under 5, they lay on their mat for the duration. I have music going for them. NO whispering, even to themselves, they are trying to get attention and are trying to stay awake. Just lay on the mat and rest. Every once in a while i will let them have a book or two at the end of nap if they are awake but then they want more books, want to trade, etc and its too much for quiet time.

The older kids (5+) who don't nap are usually in school for naptime. on days they are here, I let them read, give them quite computer time, or coloring things to do in a room that doesn't have nappers in it. THey know to talk low to not wake up or disrupt the nappers.
