I Said NO And It Feels Good!!

I generally have no problem using my backbone when it comes to most of my daycare policies but can sometimes get a little wimpy on money related issues and I ALWAYS have problems saying no to things that really aren't a policy - like little extras that aren't really defined.

So today DCM asks if her PT child can come one of her FT child's days because FT child will be home sick. I said NO. happyface They see it as me just having one of their kids instead of the other but I see it entirely different. They pay 2 different rates, they each have their own sick/vac days to use and FT child will be leaving to go to preschool in August so I want to keep things separate. DCM looked a little taken back when she left and I almost started to second guess myself but the more I thought about it the prouder I got that I said no right off the bat.

      Good for you!!

I am sure mom was a bit taken back but only because she doesn't see it from your perspective.

It's hard to get parents to understand that and sometimes impossible but still...it is what it is.

Good for you for saying no and double high fives for not second guessing yourself!! happyface

I'm right there with you! It helped me to look at it as a business decision. When I looked at it that way then it helped make me feel less wimpy about it. happyface
