I have a very challenging almost 5 yo dcb. Lately he has been trying to go home sick so he can play without sharing, watch copious amounts of television, etc
He will be playing and eating normally here but once I have to speak to him he will say "call my mom, I need to go home cause I'm sick!"
So anyway, this morning mom comes in with his brother and says O is home. She seemed to be on the fence about his illness and said Dad thought for sure he was fine, but wanted to err on the side of caution. Fine, much rather that then have to send him home in a couple of hours.
Dad calls at 9:45 - he tells me he wound up sending O to preschool. He had actually STEPPED up and told him "you are sick, it's on the couch, no tv, no toys. It's resting ALL day." happyfacehappyfacehappyface Suddenly, O was not only FINE, but ready for preschool and day care.:
: Usually I don't allow parents to send in once they have called out - but I am making an exception. They always follow my rules and are excellent clients. I feel like the LEAST I can do is support them laying down the law.
