    That Was Just Wrong

I had a past DCG stop by my house yesterday. She is now in 6th grade. I watched her from almost 2yo through 4th grade, at which point I decided not to do SA anymore (largely to escape this girl and her mom-there's a story).

So, she-the DCG-comes by and says her (quite elderly) neighbors that watch her after school are dropping her off for "a visit." They are stopped in the street in their car. They waited, thank goodness. I told her I couldn't let her stay, I'm working, numbers, you're not enrolled anymore so state says no, but I loved seeing you and you're so sweet, bye-bye.

Mom never contacted me or asked if that would be okay. She knew I would say no for one excuse or another, and instead sent her to my door, probably thinking I wouldn't be able to turn her away.

Well, I did, and felt like a witch for doing it. Now I feel all like bad karma and such. Sigh...

well that was rude of the parents to just assume you'd be ok to entertain a middle schooler during work hours. The nerve. Why not swing by for half an hr on a Sunday afternoon to say hi? Ridiculous.

Rude. I bet she told the neighbors that you would give them a break when need be and just stop by.

Common curtesy is to call before just dropping by for a visit. You run a serious daycare business, not a hang out spot for tweeny- boppers.

I would've done the same! And everything you said was completely true.

              That is certainly odd.
