    Mornings

Do you let kids fall back to sleep in the morning or do you keep them up? I have a lil one that gets here at 6:30 am and tries to go back to sleep. My fear if I let her sleep (which I have once) then she misses breakfast and then doesn't want a nap at 12. Shes almost 3.

When I took early morning kids I would let them sleep until 7:45/8 and then get them up for breakfast. They always went back to bed at naptime. I considered it an extension of their night's sleep rather than a nap.

      ^^ I do the same.

The early risers need this time and will usually wake well when food is waiting for them on the table...

My early day kids rest or read books on their cots until 7:50 (lately they are liking resting a little longer so it has been 7:55) and then I put away cots for center time when all the other kids arrive at 8:00.
The kids that have fallen asleep have no issue with naptime because they are woken up around 7:50am.

Same here. The child that arrives at 5:15 has no issues going back to sleep. I have one who arrives at 6:15am and falls back to sleep until getting up to catch the bus at 8. It depends on the child and their sleep schedules. Some children need the extra few hours. I have had no issues with naptime, we nap around 12:30. Then a few other children who arrive at 6am (theygo to bed at 7pm) and do not fall back asleep after drop off, so I allow them to lay quietly and "read" books.
