Help With Wording Re: Closing An Additional Day Due To Illness

    Hi ladies,

I had a DCBaby show up Friday with a stomach bug, but I was not aware of his condition until he was here 4 hours, after his first morning nap. Fast forward 2 days and I receive a text from his mother stating his older brother has it, and they would be absent Monday. Fast forward to Sunday afternoon and my eldest son has it, and then myself and my second oldest Sunday evening. I alert all my families that I will be closed and find out that 2 more DCKs have come down with same stomach bug.

My kiddos are on the mend and I am starting to feel a little more normal, but would like to close again tomorrow to make sure everything has run its course and I can disinfect. Help with wording? I will be sending out mass texts and would like to do it before 5 pm (1 hr and 15 min from now) so everyone has plenty of time to find alternate care.

Would something like this work for you?

    Dear DCF

Unfortunately, the stomach bug has hit us harder than expected.

The daycare will be closed for an additional day in order to sanitize, clean and ensure that everything that can be done to minimize spread has been done.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter

    Sincerely

    Daycare Provider

Maybe something like this: "Hi everyone, I will be closed one more day (tomorrow) and will re-open on Wednesday. As always, please keep me updated if your child comes down with anything or if he or she has recovered. Thank you."
