    Interviewing Children Cleaning Up

Question for you! Have you ever asked the child, and then the parents of the children if the children don't mind you, to clean up the mess they made during the interview? I have had several interviews where they walk away and the parents then say it is time to go and the mess gets left for ME to clean up after business hours.

I'm sorry, but the last thing I want to do after working 11 hours and conducting a 30 minute interview is clean up some toys off the floor. Is this just my exhaustion talking? ::

Nope. I ask for help cleaning up. My best (and favorite) clients, are the ones who had their kids clean.

It speaks volumes, IMHO. I start my goodbye speech, address the child "so nice of you to come meet me, but it's time to clean up and get ready to go home now. Will you help me________?"

no...I think it's fair. As you are wrapping up the meeting, you could say "potential DCK, we will be done in 5 minutes. Then it will be time to clean up!

I actually think it's a good test for you to administer. Even everyone just pitching in to help is worth something.

Honestly, I have never had a family not tell their children to clean up before I ever would have had a chance to mention it!
