I have a new girl that's 2.5. She has been here for 2 weeks and is getting better about nap time. However, she is potty trained and I make her go before nap. Well all this week, when I make her go before she lays down, she says she goes (but I don't think she does and then in the middle of nap time she gets up and really goes. Well then she's up and has quite time on her mat until nap time is over. Normally I wouldn't worry about it (she's not waking the other kids or anything) but she becomes a bear in the afternoon. Is there anything I can do to fix this or help fix this?

Make SURE she goes before napping.
Tell her she will need to wait until after nap to go again.
You'll know if she has an incident of REALLY needing to go mid-nap so I am NOT suggesting refusing to allow her to get up and go but I am saying to tell her when the next bathroom time is.
I just went though this with a 3.5 yr old I have. They didn't really need to go although they had no issues going again. They were simply getting up to "check" on what I was doing.
I started making sure the child actually went potty before laying down....and not just a little tinkle either. That's what mine would do. Go a little, save the rest for later.- Flag

are you on the food program? I am and I had to get this ok with them.
I had many kids peeing through pants or as your child is doing.
I now have a milk/water break at 11:30 and then at lunch I don't serve any beverage. I make sure that all kids go to the bathroom before nap time. We potty as a group and I stand in the doorway to make sure.
Wiped out the issue 100% for everyone.- Flag

No Im not on the food program. She isn't having any accidents. She is just getting up and saying " I have to potty" and then she uses that as her excuse to get up and stay up.- Flag

I would cut out drinks or reduce the amount of fluids she is getting anyway. We potty before naps everyone and if someone wakes up to ask to go in the middle of nap the answer is no. I have one that used to try that and I would let him go, I would wait to hear him go and he would just go in there and play, so no more. You go before nap time.- Flag

It didn't matter how much or little liquids my nap tie pottier had.
They still did the same thing.
It wasn't about needing to actually go in my situation. It was about needing to know. :: or not wanting to stay napping.

I am going to watch her tomorrow. I think she is doing what what you suggested. because since she is only 2 she does need my help to get up and down. So I hear her going, but I think she is only going a lil and then using it as an excuse.- Flag

make sure that when she goes that she goes all the way. my own son used to go droplets at a time not fully emptying his bladder and then needing to go every 20 min.
I was able to stop that by turning the sink on when he would go and say can you go longer than the water. It forced him to push everything out.- Flag

This kid may be a little young for it, but I had a 4 year old that always claimed he had to go when he had a time-out or during nap. I told him that he could NOT go to the bathroom, and that if he peed his pants, I would get him a towel so that he could clean it up. The child never again had to go during time-out or nap. At 2.5, I would just make certain the child goes before nap, and not allow the kid up again.- Flag

I used to allow kids to get up and use the bathroom during quiet time...what followed was a parade of children merrily claiming they had to go " real bad!" These were kids who would not use the bathroom ALL morning long - it occurred to me that if these kids could hold their bladders from 7 - 12 each day, surely they could hold them for 90 minutes. No one is allowed to get up during QT any more. I make sure they use the bathroom at least twice in the AM and immedialty before nap. Everyone is now napping and I haven't had any accidents.- Flag
