    Infant sleeping too much?

I have a 10 week old that has been with me since last week. His mom said that he slept 9 hours last night and didn't wake up until she woke him up this morning. He had been waking once in the middle of the night before. Today he came in and went right down for a one hour nap, woke up to have a bottle and new diaper, and then went back to sleep for another 3 hours. He woke up to have a bottle and is falling asleep again. He seems completely fine other than that. No fever, 3 diapers since he got here this morning, happily eating. Should I be worried about it?

No worries. Some need more sleep than others. If the baby sleeps a lot, he is likely in a more intense period of growth and development at this time. Stay alert to things like seizures, etc. that may denote a medical issue.

Totally normal. at that age they should have about 16 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. At least that's what my pediatrician told me

Probably just going through a growth spurt!
