ARGH ya gotta watch those 6 yos every minute!

Snow day yesterday so I had 3 extra kids. One of the 5 yos comes to me and asks if she can have the hair clip out of my hair. I asked her what she needed it for. She said to unlock the bathroom door(that's what I do when one of the dcks has locked it) because 6 yo dcb and 6 yo dcg are in there. The dcb is a sneaky one, always instigating things. But he comes with a little sister so to term isn't always the easiest thing to do.
I go to the door, and rap as hard as I can, scare the beejezuz out of them and tell them if I EVER EVER catch them doing that again, they will be in big trouble. It probably wasn't the best way to handle it but it was the end of the day, Friday, and I had gotten fed up with all the shenanigans of the older kids from the day. I caught the older ones just dropping toys behind them yesterday, or throwing things, not taking care of a single thing. WORSE than the toddlers I have! And oh goodie, next week is winter vacation!

I once told a mom I could no longer watch her school ager. She still kept the baby with me. I just told her it was too hard to watch the older children and the younger ones at the same time because they both needed different things. They need to be outside running around and I can't be two places at once. Things like that. Plus she knew is was a pain in the butt anyway, .

I only do school age now on a very, very rare occasion and it is usually my granddaughter.

There is a winter vacation now? I thought they just had one at Christmas.

Egad, seems like they have a break every other week. Especially this year!
This particular dcb has always been a handful. The dcps are nice, and they've been coming since dcb was about 2. Dcb would be gone if they didn't have a 2nd child. Their dd is now 3(had her since she was 3 months old) and while she can be extremely strong-willed, she and I have an understanding and I stand my ground. It's the sneaky lying 6 yo behavior from big brother that bothers me terribly. In fact, he's the one, who last year, accused another of my SA dcgs(9 yo) of touching him 'down there'. Dcps and I both told him, in no uncertain terms, how wrong that lie in particular was.
Dcm has already told me she couldn't afford to have them in separate dcs. I give a sibling discount. So I'm sure she'd pull dcg out too.
Financially, I'm just not in a position to lose any dcks. I've been down 1 ever since school started.
Anyways, thanks for letting me vent here. People here can understand the frustrations and fears of doing dc.
