    Stressed Yet Relieved

I gave a family notice today and I know for a fact they will retaliate. This mom has gotten huge attitude with me several times in the past most notably the time she got ticked off because I had my assistant come in with the flu because the kids got out of school early and my other girl had college till 4 and my assistant told her to just let the baby sit in his car seat for less than 5 min while I walked the kids home from school. So she flipped out because my assistant "refused" to hold her baby and she felt she was short and rude (or ummmm sick!!) So yesterday this mom asked my assistant to loan her gas money and when I saw her today I told her it was completely unacceptable. Well she copped attitude and complained that my assistant never should have told me :\ so I decided I have had enough and gave dad notice at pick up.

She crossed the line asking to borrow money

        Aw, I'm sorry.

Good for you for terming....WHO asks their daycare workers to borrow money??? That is by far one of the strangest things I've seen someone post about a parent.

I think I'd look at the fact that DHS will visit you as a blessing...proof it's NOT you and it is this mom that has the issue.

I have had a few parents ask to borrow money. The day after Christmas one of my ex moms called me in tears that her car ran out of gas and asked to borrow $10 and take her to the gas station. I had no problem helping her she isn't one to take advantage. All the other times I have said no thou.

Really? That is so weird to me. I couldn't imagine having a parent ask me to borrow money.

I don't know, maybe I don't come across as the "helpful" type to my clients... ::

I'd say no because to me it blurs the line between client and owner but ...

....I guess when I am in a bind, my daycare lady is not the first person I think to call for help. ::

I agree that it can blur the lines!! Which is why I have only said yes to an ex daycare parent. She has started to become more of a friend now.

I had one who asked to borrow a few dollars for a coffee. I gave it to her (and got the money back the next day) but yeah.....I thought it was a little nervy of her.

I agree! I wouldn't have been as upset if they had asked me, but asking my staff was so far beyond the line

I am already enjoying my drama free life!
