When a parent picks up late with no notice....

How do you tell them about the late fee? Do you just tell them when they arrive, "Next week add $10 to the bill." or do you leave a note in their box? What's the best way to address this?

Mine get a note detailing how late they were and what they owe. I adapted it from one someone on here shared (Black Cat I believe).

I close at 6PM. At 6 on the nose, my normal sign in/out folder goes away and a big red one comes out. They have to sign it before they leave. It shows the time they arrived (taken from MY clock) and the amount due. There is no escape!

I do this too. Once the parent is late, I place the late sign out sheet out for them.

The late fee is due in CASH upon drop off the next morning.

NO admittance unless the fee is paid.

My late fee doubles for the second late pick up and termination may occur with the third late pick up.

I am flexible with my mornings but when a parent is late, it's my own family that gets short changed and that is NOT ok. Ever.
