    Hiring an assistant! Please HELP!

Im new to this page and am LOVING it so far! So much knowledge and experience!

Im a provider in Dekalb Il. Im currently working on expanding to a group home, but will need a second assistant when school age kids are here. (My husband is my full time assistant and I think we're some sort of a dynamic duo!) Im thinking of hiring a family friends daughter for school holidays off and school vacations so I can have more kids. Im wondering if I need to tax her? How to go about that? Do I need to tax if its under a certain amount? I dont pay my husband ( I know, lucky him ),so Ive never had to figure this out before! Any advide to direct me in the right direction would be super helpful!

Oh, also... do I have to pay her hourly? Can I pay her by the day? She's 15 years old.

I'd check with licensing. Here an assistant under the age of 18 would not allow me to accept any more children. I could have them help, but they wouldn't qualify as an assistant.

Assistants have to be 18 here as well!
