    Glue Sponge

Has anybody ever used this idea for younger kids? My older kids use glue very well, but this seems like it might work out pretty well for the younger ones.

Yep, I do. Works great. As long as you keep it covered and well saturated with glue it doesn't dry up ... weird but cool. It takes about 2-3 small bottles of glue to get the sponge really saturated the first time.

LO's just tear up or cut paper then push down on rub the paper on the sponge and stick to their craft when making collages. Fingers still get sticky but you can always keep some wipes handy just in case they get too sticky ... totally makes less waste.

I've been using one for a few months. I'm a huge fan. The 3 yo dcg doesn't like it. She much prefers the adventure of squeezing out puddles of glue.

Maybe I didn't use enough glue. Mine never work that well. They aren't very sticky

I use these, too. Absolutely love them and is very child-friendly.

How did I not know about this before?

Thanks for sharing, I think we'll be going through a LOT less glue now!

FYI: On pinterest it says to add drops of water as needed to avoid drying out. I did that and the sponge started stinking from mildew and I had to throw the sponges away.

Just add more glue when the sponge appears to be drying up.

I use these squeeze bottles with glue in them. It has a little round songe on the end. I love them. Very neat. No waste. No mess

Yes, this . I didn't add water either. Also the container should be small like the sponge. Too big and they'll be too much air inside which can dry up the glue.

I love this and have been thinking about making one. I have a gallon jug of glue hanging out....
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

It looks like a good idea. I haven't had much trouble with little ones painting glue on with a paint brush though. I pour a little puddle of glue onto a paper plate and they brush it on with a paint brush. When finished, I can throw the plate away.

Do you make them or buy them? That sounds like a good idea, too.

I used to do this at my old job. I forgotten all about it. My kids now have no clue what "one dot of glue" means. Thanks!

Where do you find them? When I was little they used to sell them at the dollar store...my mom always bought them. They were long tubes of clear glue and you just dabbed the glue out. Is that what yours look like?

I do something similar. I pour some glue in small measuring cups and the kids use q-tips to apply the glue where they want.
