    Preschoolers and AM Nap?

Has anyone ever tried this? I have a CRANKY group in the morning. Two 3yos came in sleeping after 8am today, one 2yo came in screaming because they just woke her up, 1 3yo got here late 7:30 do/got here at 8:50, because Dad let him sleep after a rough night. This is a regular thing.

I let one 3yo sleep at drop off because he started screaming when I tried to wake him, he slept from 8:20/arrival until 10. He slept through the noise of 5 other preschoolers in the same room! It completely messed up our schedule (of course).

He is back to sleep for PM nap, too.

I sent dcm a text and she said he fell asleep around 11 and woke up at 5:50, then fell back to sleep in the car on the way in.

I have changed our nap from 1:30-3:30 to 12:30-2:30, then bumped it even more to 11:30-1:30/2. They are ALL out the second their heads hit the mats. I can't move it up anymore without messing with lunch, so my option is before lunch. I'm tempted to just lay everyone back down after breakfast.

It's after 2 and they are all still sound asleep, even the one who took the AM nap.

Maybe for the rest of the week, try a 30-45 minute nap after breakfast and see what happens. Can't hurt to try.
:hug:I hate when they come in all tired/crabby right of the bat. Makes the day that much harder.

I had one DCB who I occasionally had to give an AM nap even after we moved to a PM nap only. Otherwise I just work with it, but I have a super small group.
