Do you guys wake kiddos at a certain time at morning nap? I just started a morning nap for my two littlest (one schedule change, one just...life changes. I've posted about him).

I have one DCB who will take a morning nap if he is up super early. I limit it to 30 minutes so that he still naps with everyone else in the afternoon. If i dont limit it, he will sleep for an hour and a half and wont nap in the afternoons. He is 15 months though.- Flag

No, I don't wake them.
However, I tossed the schedule out the window since I now have an 8 weeker w/o a schedule, a 9 month old who is teething (4 teeth at once, yay. First teeth too!) an almost 2 year old who just transitioned to a toddler bed & a 3.5 yo who doesn't sleep at night.
Anyways, I leave them be. I have a pretty mellow crew with the exception of my school agers so it works for us. You need to do what works for you and your program.- Flag

I'd try not to wake - - kids who can't resettle for an afternoon nap after a morning nap should be transitioning to drop the morning nap- Flag

I do wake toddlers/pre-schoolers from morning nap.I do it gently by telling them snack is on the table.
I usually only give morning naps to ^^ when they seem to need them, not everyday.
I do not wake Infants. I don't like screaming that much...- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

If it were an infant that needed two naps, i obviously wouldnt wake them. But i have a toddler who only needs one nap, unless he wakes up super early that morning. Then he needs a little cat nap in order to make it to our regular nap time without being a monster. This only happens every couple of weeks.- Flag

Our morning nap for older infants and older, for those who need it, is from 9-10. I wake them up because my crew doesn't do well with afternoon nap if I let it go past 10. I 'suggest' waking up at that time to my infants who are 3-5 months or so by turning the music off and turning the light on. If they stay asleep, though, I leave them alone.- Flag

Thanks! So many different answers,.
The kiddos in question are ~11 months and 21 months. 11 months just started getting dropped off at 7:30 instead of 9:30 and I feel she is going to need an AM nap to make it until our regular naptime at 12:30/1. And 21 months has some transitions at home that are making him extra tired and the nap is an experiment on my part.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag
