Fiber bar for 1 year old?

So yesterday, DCM came in and asked if DCG4 had pooped at my house in the last week or so.
I told her that I didn't know because I don't go into the bathroom with the kids once they are fully potty trained (and she has been for well over a year).

So, she tells me that she gave DCG4 a fiber one bar.

Well, when I woke up DCB1 (brother of DCG4), he had a blowout. I mean nasty, smelly, messy - just GROSS!

When I told DCM, she said, "Oh that's probably from the fiber bar I gave him this morning"

I said, "He hasn't had any problems pooping"

She said, "I know, but he wouldn't stop screaming when I gave it to DCG. He just wants everything DCG has."

REALLY!?!?

This is so annoying to me!!! Be a parent and say no!

Hmmm Fiber One bars don't usually have that effect on me or my kids. We eat them all the time... Maybe just due to his size and the amount of fiber? I don't know... That's odd.

Unlikely it was from the fiber bar. sounds like you have one getting sick For the older one raisons work better than a fiber bar.

Warm apple juice will do the trick also. But I'd never give any of my own kids something for constipation if I wasn't sure if they had pooped or not. Yuck.

Fiber One bars do nothing for us, but my sisters and mom swear up and down that one bar will do what you've described for them.

Not sure if his mess what from a fiber bar or not. I don't really care. I guess I shouldn't have named my thread that.
My issue is this DCM constantly giving into her kids just because they cry or scream. It's ridiculous!

This happened to my dd once. She ate one of dh's bars and had a big blowout. We don't buy them anymore anyway, but she now calls them "poop bars".
