Does anyone do a late morning nap?

I have two kiddos who seem to be in transition from 1 to 2 naps (13 month olds), and a 7 month old who is fighting all naps, and seems to be able to wait longer between.

I am considering going to an 11-2 nap instead of 9-9:45 and 12:15-3:00. I just don't think they are ready to wait until 12:15 yet (2 of 3 are up at 6:15 am).

Does anyone do this? I am thinking I would give them breakfast earlier, then a snack at 10:45, and lunch AFTER nap. Once they are used to that, I'd push nap out 15 minutes at a time until we are back to noon or so.

Why not keep the morning nap?
I have a 13 month old here who still needs 2 naps.
    Morning nap is from 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m.
    Afternoon nap is from about 1 p.m.- 3/3:30 p.m.

I did that for one of the dcgs I had. She was the same way, no need for 2 naps but couldn't make it until after lunch for a rest. So I did exactly those hours: 11 to 2 and she had lunch when she woke up. It worked really well for her.

Yes, I have done this, and it works. Once you have success for a while, you can push nap to 12:00. It's a good compromise, and helps prepare the younger kids to get on the schedule of the preschoolers eventually.

It sounds like you have a good plan . Are these all of your kiddos or are there other children with opposite naps?

I have one nap time for the daycare kids from 11:30-2. DD goes down after the boys (14 mo and 21 mo) around 12:30. I opt to have an earlier nap time because they just can't make it for an afternoon nap. Thats how I transition my 2x nappers to one nap a day with me. If they are tired in the afternoon their parents give them a quick evening nap. Seems to work really well for everyone and sometimes my boys will sleep 3+ hours.

I also have a 23 month old, but he's here at 7am and doesn't always comply with bedtime for mom, so I am fairly certain he'd do ok with it.

7 month old never took a morning nap today (he did this one day last week). He got a bit grumpy at around 11, but he made it through lunch without too much drama. He'd been up since 6:15.

I had planned on waiting for spring to get the one year olds to one nap, but since 2 of 3 are now fighting morning nap, I thought I might as well go for it. Not being able to go outside, though, is making for some long mornings as it is.

Typically, we do the same thing when transitioning from 2 naps to 1. And I really dislike it.

Either that OR we do a early & short nap.

Typically our two naps a day are 9:00-10:30 and 1:00/1:30-3:30, so we will lay them down at 10:00 and wake at 10:30ish - just so they get that little bit of sleep to tie them over. Whether or not it works is totally depending on each child. For some the 30 min in the morning is enough to make them not sleepy at 1/1:30. But not normally. And then sometimes we will hold them off, and lay them down right after lunch at 12:00 (earlier than our normal nap), so the get an XL afternoon nap until they need less sleep.
