I'm a fairly new daycare provider, I started back in September. Since then I've had to take a day off, my 3yr old was running a temp of 102.4 that day and I told all the parents at pick up I would be closed the next day due to son's temp. Everyone was fine except one parent. (My gosh I'm sorry my child is sick and I have to inconveince you by closing my home).
Today I only had 3 kids, everyone knows I now close at 3:30 on Friday because the 3 kids get picked up by 3:30 anyways. I needed children to be picked up on time because I had a very important Dr. Appt today. One mother was late so I rescheduled Dr. appt for next Friday, couldn't get in a later time so I scheduled in the morning. Second mother, (same one as before) acted like it was such a huge ordeal I was taking off again and asked if I would be closed the whole day, when I said yes she just huffed at me and says she doesn't know what she's going to do.... Um well, it's stated in my contract that I require everyone have back up care in case things like this come up! Well I'm sorry that I had to reschedule a Dr. appt because people can't pick their kids up at scheduled time, I'm sorry that I had an irregular breast exam before and now have to schedule 6 month check ups, which I'm late for anyways. I feel bad for having to close a day but I have no choice. She's had an attitude with me before and I'm just tired of people coming into my home and not giving me any respect. Sorry so long just had to vent!
