What a Difference a Child Makes!

I have 2 new part time dck's here today, but not full time dcg. (it's her scheduled day off) Wow! So nice! I know it's probably just the honeymoon period, but the dck's are playing nicely together and with my children. My 10 yo dd keeps saying "They are so cute!" and has become a great helper with them. FT dcg is not very social in the mornings (read whiney about everything) and it isn't until after nap that she plays well. So today has been a very nice change for all of us.

    I agree.

The children enrolled are like a delicate eco-system...any absence or missing child DEFINITELY shows immediately in the change in group dynamics.

Hope you enjoy your "easier" day.

      Totally!!

I have a new PT child enrolled 3 days/week. She has done SO MUCH to benefit our group. She's almost 3 and is the oldest of my toddler group. She's our ringleader (in a good way), getting the kids to play nicely together, entertaining the 1-year-olds... they follow her around like puppies, and she is sweet and gentle and includes them. The little ones cry when she goes home! It's honestly easier for me when she's here.

One kid can make a huge difference!

I am terming and replacing my more challenging kids. I started to really document what went on when certain kids were here vs absent and after exhausting all efforts to change behaviors, I am making very necessary changes to our group. 2 down, 1 to go. It's definitely a world of difference to our dynamic since the last kiddo was let go. LOTS less whining, more cooperation, and EVERYONE lost that Iamsomiserablegrumpypoutface.
