Hi- Do I need a separate room for nap time? I will have only one infant and planning on putting her in a pack and play in my son's room or his crib if he's not in it. I figured older kids can take naps/quiet time on mats in the living room. Or does the state require separate sleeping space for all kids?

I use my office for the pack-n-plays for the babies, and I have all the older kids on nap mats in my playroom. I don't let the babies and older kids sleep in the same room, but I do have kids sleeping in the same room. My state requires 2 feet between each child.- Flag

You are not required to have a separate room just for naps. Most use their main daycare room and space the children out. It is required, according to each state--it may be different, that you place infants pack-n-plays or cribs so-far apart from each other. I think it's the same for older kids.
I would recommend you double-check your local rules on infants being in a separate room. It's allowed, but you may be required to have visual on them or baby monitors on.- Flag

I have 2 pack and plays a crib and a toddler bed in my daughters room, and it doesnt look crammed. I did not notice any rules about how close they are to one another. Let me know if you know of any, I am in MN. I have an infant coming soon and I plan on putting her in my bedroom or the playroom. I do not have any older children because I only take 6 yo and under and I am new. I think they sleep better in the bedroom and then I can play music, sweep, eat lunch, make phone calls and not have to worry about waking them up. Its sooo nice!- Flag
