Week of Feb. 3rd: Dinosaurs! I am setting up an archaeological dig with a box of sand, spoons, and dinosaur bones! We always incorporate counting, colors, etc: Triceratops has how many horns? What color is he? (Not that scientists even really know, !) We are also coloring our own dinosaur eggs (hard boiled eggs) and eating them for a high protein snack, as well as many other dino projects!

Week of Feb. 10th: Valentine's week! We are making TONS of valentines to send to the children at Children's Mercy hospital! Also for our families.

Week of Feb 17th: Music and Instrument week! We are making our own tambourines, drums, and rattle sticks, and playing the keyboard, violin, harmonica, recorders, etc.

Week of Feb. 24th: This week is Dr. Seuss week! March 2nd is a Sunday, but it's our favorite author's birthday! We have a whole Seuss week planned, making Thing 1 & Thing 2 crafts, tossing bean bags into the Seuss hat, and reading every Seuss book we have! Plus counting and colors goes great with 1 Fish 2 Fish!!

I have a weekly theme for every week, and the kids (and parents) LOVE it! It gives us structure, and I never have to wake up and wonder what to do with the kids that day.

I really like doing Chinese New Year (Jan 31.) different customs , Groundhogs day (feb. 2) what's a shadow, Valetines (of course) love even if someone is different. Hopefully we will get some winter type weather soon so I can do a winter theme.

Same here. We'll also do snowflakes, penguins and Mardi Gras (making mask and painted macaroni necklaces). Can't believe February is right around the corner already!

I like to add the postal service play center as well this month. Delivering the valentines as well as teaching the kids about their own address.....we have some little metal mailboxes we got at target for a $1.

OMG DR SEUSS already!!! it is soooo my fav and I got so much stuff from the dollar bins at target at 70% off last year I can't wait to bring it all out.

I want to skip February this year....

I guess I will have to call it "Snow Storm Remembrance Month" or "You are not so Special after-all Month" with 5/6 of the kids having birthdays this month...

5 huge theme parties with gift bags, decorating, cakes and presents, with one child feeling left out...all in 3 weeks. Thinking about one "Happy Un-Birthday" as well. I am tired just thinking about it.
