    Job Interview

    After all the drama I have had with these few parents, I applied for a job at our local high school as head secretary for the principle. I didn't think anything of it but they called me the next day for an interview. So my question is, do I let the parents know whats going on? Or do I only say something If I get it. I don't want to put anyone in a bind, but I also don't want to shoot my self in the foot if I don't get it. I wasn't sure the bast way to handle it since I just started back up, but this job would be perfect because I would perfect since my kids go to the same distract. Thanks

    I wouldn't say a thing until you get it. If you need to take time off to go the interview, I would just say that you need to be closed for an appointment and leave it at that.

    Good Luck on your interview!! happyface

        You will be shooting yourself in the foot if you say anything prematurely!

        You do not owe your DCF's more than 2 wks notice. If you say something now, they will know you are looking for a change, and they will start looking for other care the moment you tell them, because they have to look out for themselves. Most likely they won't give you more than 2 wks notice when they find it, and that could leave you quite short on income if you end up taking an outside job later rather than sooner.

        Bottom line, 2 wks is all that's expected of either party. And you DO NOT want your DCF's to think you hate your job-not in this line of work!

            I'm totally not picking on you, but if it comes up in your interview at all, you might want to spell his/her title correctly. Principal. "The Principal is your PAL."

            LOL. Again, not picking on you - it just might be a good thing to know!

            And best of luck on your interview! lovethis

              Do not tell them until you GET the job and have a start date. If they need to start sooner I would not give 2 weeks notice. Parents can find good care in a week unless it is an infant.
              It:: will wait
