    when contracts arent returned..?

    I handed out contracts last Monday and told them they were due by this coming Monday since my contract states they have two weeks for new contracts. I have one that hasn't been turned in, parents keep saying its all done at home, which I doubt very much.

    I still have there contract on file from last year and it doesn't have an "end" date but I have made it clear that they need to turn it in with the new forms.

    If they don't have it Monday morning, should I refuse care?

    I am sort of a pushover with things like this. Wwyd?

    I would send a courtesy email/text /phone call, whatever your màin means of communication is and say "just a reminder, all contracts are now expired. New contracts are due Monday morning before care can be given."

      Print off another one and have them sign it when they pick the kids up today or drop off Monday if they forget.
      It:: will wait

        Its a whole packet of new forms plus a contract. Plus they lost the first packet and I had to give them a whole new one.

        I must be a grump today, that's what I would normally do.

          In the email, say something like:

          Please remember to bring your new forms with you at drop-off on Monday morning, or plan on spending a few minutes here getting them completed. I will not be able to leave dck here without the new forms. Thanks so much for understanding!

            I'd go with a reminder like Heidi suggested.

            I too require contracts and paperwork to be returned by a specific date.

            If they fail to do so, I will not provide care.

            I also let parents know when I hand out new forms/paperwork that if they don't return them by xx date, I consider their lack of returning them as their notice of withdrawing from care.

            I also don't supply secondary copies (or even firsts for that matter). I upload all my forms to Google Drive and just e-mail parents the link.

            They are then responsible for printing out the forms that need to be signed and returned. If they have the link, they have access to as many copies as they want with NO expense to me for ink/paper.

                My parent handbook and all the required (state) enrollment forms are on my website, so they just need to fill them in and print them. It actually makes them easier for my parents, because they can type it all in, print, and sign. With my parents of mutiples, that means filling out all the identical info...address, etc. one time, then just personalizing it for each child.

                I didnt' think of Google doc for my actual contract, though. Since I only have 4 families, though, I guess the paper and ink isn't going to overwhelm me. ::
