I need some tips! My 2.5yo will drink nothing but juice since I weaned her off bottles (which wasn't long ago, I confess). I water it down but I still don't want her drinking it so much, its junk IMO. Any suggestions??
2.5yo will only drink juice!

very simple...
DONT SERVE JUICE.
"I'm sorrry, we are out of juice. Would you like milk or water?"
*throws hissy fit".
"We are out of juice, your choices are milk or water..."
rinse and repeat until doomsday
I honestly don't serve juice, except on super-rare occasions (about as often as I serve flavored milk). It really is white milk or water here.- Flag

White milk or water here, too. You have created it, now it's time to solve it.
I would either do it cold turkey like Heidi said, or start watering it down asap, water down the actual container of juice, so that she sees it being poured, a 1/4 at a time, until she is essentially drinking flavored water. I add a splash of apple juice to the daycare kids water in summer and call it 'flavored water'. They gobble it up.- Flag

The watering down works great. First time 3/4th juice 1/4 water. 1-2 days later 1/2 juice 1/2 water. 1-2 days later 1/4 juice 3/4 water. 1-2 days later fill it with mostly water and just a tiny bit of juice. Then water!this is what I did with a dck
My son was the same way with milk. Our pediatrician said we had to stop giving him so much milk or he could become anemic. I had no idea it was that bad. Oops! It's all he would drink until 22 months or so. He hated water until recently. If he didn't want it then he didn't get anything to drink. He would drink if he was thirsty enough. I am tougher on my own kids.
Now our next tackle is the Binkey at bedtime. That will be a nightmare!- Flag

I needed to hear it from you all, thank you! I am going to try watering it down drastically over a couple of days.
She was easy her 1st 2 years, all I gave her was water and she was ok with that. But since the milk isn't a primary drink anymore, she is all about some juice:-)- Flag

You just have to stop offering it. I would try maybe giving her 2 cups- one with water (have water available to her at all times) and one with milk at mealtimes. Just cut the juice off completely. Dump it down the drain and don't give in. If she asks for juice, say, juice- YUCK! Water is delicious! YUM! Make sure she sees you drinking plenty of water. Often times even if I don't feel thirsty if I see someone else drinking water it makes me thirsty.- Flag

You do the shopping so don't buy it.
now my story... do not feel bad we all make mistakes
My sis is an early childhood special ed teacher well she was now she is the Assistant administrator...Her youngest was a handful. she came here p/t and had made a point that day she wanted to leave after lunch which was fine but when sis came dn refused to go... Sis looks at me all frazzled What do I do. I smiled and said What would you tell one of your parents..... so she picked up that 5 yr old under her arm and they went to the car. no discussion. because I said so I am the mom...
Even the best get flustered when it is their own childrenIt:: will wait
