    Terming During Trial...Wording Help

So I know this thread is a bit akward with all the recent talk about terming dcks prematurely but I think I need to do this.

Just added a little 12 month old girl last Monday, making 8 total dcks and 2 are babies.

It's just too many for me at this time so I'm going to have to let the new little girl go.

Main problem is that she is the child of a friend from highschool so it's making it a bit more difficult.

She's not here today because I can't lift any babies (horrible wrist tendonitis - surgery in 2 weeks) and since getting her last week my wrist has been horrible (lots of holding/picking up of course).

I'm thinking about writing a letter today and emailing it, so they can start looking today, and then talk to mom tomorrow.

How do word notices when you term during the trial? I just want to be honest and say I think it's just too many to handle and I don't feel like I can give the best care possible with so many. I just don't want them to think I'm not capable but am choosing to give the best care to the number I feel most comfortable with.

Any help with wording would be great!!

Did you happen to see my letter I posted when I termed? I took the blame and used medical reasons, so there wouldnt be any cold or hurt feelings, plus I wanted to be able to use them as a reference in the future. Truth was, although medical was issue, I couldnt stand the kid, and he had add or something, but I didnt want them to know that!

How Do You Terminate? Letter? in Person? Oct 22, 2010 See that post

When I was terminating a boy a few weeks ago during the trial period, I got some good tips from here, http://www.stepbystepcc.com/forms.html
scroll to the bottom to the termination letters. Hope this helps.

LOL, I had to go check it out. Make sure you double-check spelling when you choose to use already-existing documents because under the termination notice number 4 says, "Please except this as my two-week written notice to terminate childcare for..." accept...ha ha.

I think the topic of termination (whether during a trial period or not) was discussed recently on this forum. I just can't seem to find it. I understood it as you don't give a reason, just state "The last day of care for CHILD'S NAME will be DATE. I remember thinking you don't give a reason because the parent could take it the wrong way and hold it against you. Then just sign and date it.

Abagail, did you ck out my post on oct 22 as I had refferred to above?

I wrote a letter, and I did state the reasons, for I put the blame on me, and from the responses I got from members about my letter, they all said it sounded good. I had to write mine in a way where they would give me a good referance in the future.

Even if you didnt give them a reason, they could still hold it againist you anyway, for NOT telling them. I kmow I would be mifed..
