I know a few people who are a member of that site and they are great, but I personally know them. You could also check with your local child care resource and referral agency, A lot of home day cares offer part time care so that could be a great option as well.

    Good luck in your search!

I think that no matter what you use or how you find a "babysitter" you always need to do your homework.

No matter what always ask for references (and call them to ask about their experiences) and call licensing (if they are a center or family child care) to check for any complaints. Get a background check too if they are a family child care or babysitter.

You should also know what type of care you need.

Babysitters usually offer occasional care or are family child care providers that offer the typical child care service.

Family child care is when the child care provider offers child care in her own home. Many of them now offer some some type of preschool or education.

Daycare centers offer child care in a commercial building and usually have more staff and children. They also usually offer some sort of preschool or educational program and is usually a little more expensive than family child care.

If you want someone to come to your home then you're looking for a nanny. Depending on age, education and experience this type of child care is usually the most expensive however you have more flexibility and control.

Here's a little more to keep in mind when looking for child care Selecting Child Care

      Licensed vs Unlicensed

      Types of Child Care

      Quality Child Care
