    Lord Help Me!

I am growing my backbone today. I am sending out a parent letter explaining the changes i am making and the policies that some of my parents have had a hard time following. I am so nervous that one of my moms is gonna term (the letter is a lot of things she does). Dont get me wrong a few of the things multiple people do so not just putting her on blast.

I am just so nervous about it all. But i cant do my business like this anymore.

I did this a week ago and so far I haven't had either of my families term.

Let us know how it goes

I do this annually. Contract and parent handbook renewals always come out in January! Trust me, there will most likely be things you want to add to it by next year.

Good for you for taking charge of your business and running it the way you want to!

I did this at the beginning of the month when I renewed contracts. I have them sign the revisions and that way they can't say "I didn't know"!

I have found that the difficult part is not sending out changes (and in your case hoping they read it). The difficult part comes into play when you have to ENFORCE your new rules. I don't feel panic and fear every time I enforce a policy now. In fact, I feel very little at all. It's just a fact. THIS is my policy and THIS is how I expect it to be followed.

I have never had a parent leave over policy changes. Do they sometimes put up a stink? Sure, if they are not used to it (when I first began using my backbone OR if they are coming from an unstructured place). But, it calms down (or I fire them from coming here LOL) and all is well in the world.

well that was great timing. she probably panicked thinking she would have to find new daycare and with another infant on the way, it would be no easy task. so that is to your benefit. she is going to stick it out and follow your rules, yay!
