so when you say you charge for late fee ... are you all charging for the week days only or for the weekend as well.....

    - pd Fri by closing they pay Mon at drop off = one day or three ???

Sorry for the question... I just know that if I charged for the sat and sun my clients would question that, stating that they should not be charged for the weekend for I'm closed on the weekend....

    just wondering ....

I charge for weekend days, as I have a drop/lock box I can check each day outside my home specifically FOR payments.

I charge PER calendar day. Weekends and holidays too.

EACH day I do NOT have access to the money I am owed, is a day that I feel I am within my rights to attach a fee to.

Credit card companies, banks, cable companies etc all charge PER calendar day.

Parents can question it all they want but if they don't like it, then don't pay late. It's that simple.

          This is what I do:

If they don't pay on Friday by 5 pm then the next time they can pay is Monday at drop off... with a $25 flat rate late payment fee. I don't want anyone showing up here on the weekends. I don't have time for that... with between my netflix marathons and my laissez faire attitude towards the house cleaning and clothes wearing... I don't want visitors

            dc diva,
I dont give my dc clients any sick days. They pay if there kid is sick or not. That's the problem with drop ins. If you dont hear from client who really owns the spot then your out a drop in. Do you mean that family(the drop in) wants 3 days regular? I had a client a ways back who was paying me for two weeks but it was not in advance. When I brought up the subject with her she got all snitty with me and said that her job doesnt pay her in advance so why should she pay me in advance. (she was a drug rep for merc at the time) I explained to her that not every business is the same and that all my other families where paying me in advance already. She did end up paying me in advance and I was so proud for sticking up for myself. She could still run the payment by even if child is sick. (I have had parents do that lots of times)
I would term and move on. She is totally disrespecting you and your business. You have given her plenty of chances. Good luck !
            Deb
