    New Daycare Stole My Material

EntropyControlSpecialist here (can't remember login password, oops).

I was trying to find a good daycare in the area to refer people to if my spots are filled or the age group they are trying to find care for it outside of my range.
I came across a new daycare in the area that opened up a few months ago and they have copied material from my website. An example is the schedule I had posted. They copied the exact wording (for example: Math with Manipulatives and Writing Development in a certain order) and only changed times. It is quite obvious.

My stuff is not copyrighted. I have taken down my schedule now and put my Parent Handbook on a password protected blog post on my website. I worked very, very hard on that website and spent a lot of money putting it and the material on it together. It greatly saddens me that someone stole things off of it when I would have gladly assisted them!

Some of my clients noticed and were upset for me and mentioned things like shooting her mean mom glances and saying something which made me laugh but is obviously not how I want things handled (truly do not need my clients doing my dirty work for me LOL).

What would you say to this woman? I found out right before Christmas.

Not much advice. Have you tried to contact her (email) and ask her to take it down? Not sure if it would work or if she would deny it, but it might be worth a shot. If your parents are noticing, then others probably will too. It would be like the parent that gets termed and badmouths the provider-everyone knows the provider didn't do wrong. Sorry, not very helpful. I'm not much for confrontation, so I personally would probably just leave it and change/take things off my site

Use http://archive.org/web/ and see if your site was indexed with the content showing the month and year. Copy it and present it to the other daycare stating that you can show that she is stealing your content and send her a cease and desist letter.

Original material is copyrighted from the moment it is created. You no longer even have to use the © for it to be protected. There is a site to help with this. I'll try to find it when I'm on my PC.

            Thank you!

Michael, I tried to look but it only did my front page in April 2013 and not the link to some of the actual things. Booger.
