    Switching to Cots

I knew it was too easy the other day when I moved dcb to a cot. It went so smooth-too smooth. He laid down and fell asleep all of nap. When the lights went on, he got up and went about our normal routine.

Today, not so much. Told him it was bedtime (usually he ran to his pnp) and he dropped to the floor. Didn't cry or anything, just was glued there. Got everyone else to their spots and went to scrape him off the floor. Placed him on his cot and he rolled until he fell off. Put him back on, he rolled back off. Rinse and repeat for about 35 minutes. Finally stayed on, but then started scratching at it. Said shhh, baby sleeping. He stopped. Thought he fell asleep. Nope. 10 minutes later, scratch, scratch, scratch. Shhh. Repeat. Since "falling" off, he has gotten up 3 times (not bad I guess).

Maybe Monday he will be tired from not napping here today and he never does on the weekends, that it will be an easy day again.

Lil bugger Wishing you better luck next week! How old is he that he doesn't nap on weekends?
I transitioned my little dcg this week, to a mat, and she's done exceptionally well! She'll be 2 in a week and I'll be using her PnP for her little sister who starts the 20th.

He is almost 18 months. He didn't start napping well here until close to 1. Never was a morning nap kiddo, even as a newborn. Lately tho, he would sleep between 2.5-3 hours. Hopefully he will go back to that. He gets up around 430a and goes to bed around 930-10p. His afternoon was, ugh, tough. I don't miss that behavior out of him. He has been soooo great the last 6 months-happy and chatty

I'll remember to laugh when you transition your next little one too:: At least it's Friday and he wasn't crying or screaming, just being a stinker

            Yup!

I am a big fan of moving them early. I started it by accident (here parents have to bring a crib, and one just didn't bring and I can't refuse so I had to teach him; another the 5 month old just screamed when I wanted to put him in a crib, but in desperation I tried a mattress and he did great). I have a little alcove room off my main living room and that's where we nap. The kids learn really quick when I put them on the mattress they stay until nap is over. It takes a week or 2 of sitting with them while going to sleep (often less, I play on my ipad while they doze off) and then I have more space and no cribs to deal with. Fair trade if you ask me!
