    I Need Help

With a polite letter to the daycare parents telling them they need to put bigger diapers on their child. He is 3 but developmentally he is way younger. He is not ready for potty training and is a skinny but large framed child. They put him in size 4s and he leaks over the waistband of the diaper and his clothes get wet and so does his nap mat and blanket. I have asked them to move him up before and for a week they would send size 5s but then they are back into 4s. I need a nice but firm way to tell them I will no longer accept him in size 4 diapers. Thanks

It is an economical issue with them because they get more in a pack of the size 4's. Good Luck!

Just verbally tell them. Size 4 are not working please send in size 5.

Bottom line is they cost more, and they have a size chart that is suggested. That size chart doesn't always work for every child's size and needs.

Be direct with no wiggle room for negotiations on this. They are not working here and I need diapers that fit properly and do what they are intended for.

Here is the part that you won't want to hear and is hard to carry out.......when she brings in size fours after bringing in size 5's for a while, call her at work and ask that she bring in the proper size or come and get her child.

It's hard to do our job with out the things we need. In your instance it is unsanitary and a mess that can be avoided with proper supplies.

You could buy a pack yourself and charge her, per diaper (make it expensive), each time he needs a bigger diaper. Just tell her he needs a 5 and you don't like cleaning up after him when he leaks so you have some 5's that she can buy from you for $X per diaper if she should 'forget' to bring a 5.

No letter. Tell her in person and let her know that if she cannot provide the correct supplies, you will have to turn her child away from the door.
