    Funny kids!

I have a new dcg who started on Tuesday. She is very picky, and so far hasn't liked anything I have given her to eat. Yesterday, I gave the older kids yogurt and the toddler had goldfish. The new dcg didn't like yogurt, but said she wanted goldfish. I told her that her snack was yogurt, so if she didn't want it, she could wait until lunch.

Fast forward to today - I decided, since she hasn't liked anything so far that I would serve goldfish for snack this morning. I handed her her bowl, and she said, "I don't like goldfish." Ugh!! Before I could reply, my other dcg said, "You wanted them yesterday. Why don't you like them today?"

LOL! Some of the best lessons come from our peers

My hubby is one of the most honest people I know- sometimes to a fault! He says he lied constantly as a child until one of his friends called him on it and said everyone knew he was lying so why do it? I am sure his parents had told him that a 100 times but he remembers the exact moment that his friend told him

I have one like that, a 4yo dcg.

Mom: "She has a great appetite! Loves everything but green beans!"

dcg refuses most of the snacks and keeps saying I want this, I want that. And when I tell her no, that's not the snack she throws a fit and says she "I saw it in the fridge, I want it!"

Yes, you saw it in the fridge. I tell her "Those bananas are for the toddlers....no, snack is in 2 hours. you didn't eat any of your food for breakfast. No, you cannot have more breakfast - you didn't even eat the food you had." etc. On comes the pouting fit.

She also has a big sitting while eating problem and manners are non existent...did I mention we can be quite bossy? I am trying to be patient but terming has totally crossed my mind. She's the only other dck my dd's age which is a huge plus -- except my dd is picking up her attitude and misbehavior. All my others are infants/toddlers.

I have one too, dcb5. He used to eat broccoli and he mom told me she was very surprised but yes, he eats it at home too!

One day I gave him raw broccoli and he told me no, he only likes cooked broccoli now. Fine.

Served cooked broccoli next time. No, he only likes raw broccoli. Ok. Maybe I got it mixed up.

The next time I washed up two bunches of broccoli, cooked one and left the other raw.

I served the cooked broccoli. No, I only like it raw. Good! Here is some raw broccoli then! Oh wait, no, I only like it cooked with butter. good! Here's some butter on it! Oh, no, I only like HOME broccoli, cooked, with butter.
Really? And only during a full moon? In a month with an R? While standing on one leg?

        Holy fussypants.

This reminds me of my dh...! He is soooo picky with his food. He won't eat many cooked veggies among other things. He claims "he's not picky, he has standards". ::

Well one day I made corn. He "didn't" like it. He told me he only likes the buttered corn that his grandma makes! SO the next time, I made corn and put butter in it-well he ate it. Then I made it again and he said he didn't like it, it wasn't like his grandma's! It was the SAME corn! :rolleyes

Wow, this makes him sound like a kid...
