Update On My Behavioral Policy.....Backbone In Place!!

I handed mom my policy and she got very very upset. I have been in contact with her all day about dcbs behavior and my policy.

She started crying and said how hard it is for her. She's a single mom and is pretty much on her own, what is she gonna do.

She said her son is probably just trying to communicate.

I told her that does not make it ok.

    She said she understands.

I told her if we have repeat of today I will have to terminate care. Today was an extremely rough day!!

I am usually a person that tries to make everything ok, I hate people being upset.

In this case I just couldn't let the tears affect me.

Sometimes enough is enough. I have one that was really aggressive, but thankfully has calmed down quite a bit, but I will NEVER do it again!

Towards the end of the day my son became his target. I cannot and will not have one of my own children being harmed. They should feel the safest in his own home.

When my own kids were younger, I always found my backbone when I asked myself 'does this benefit or hurt my family?' Good for you!

I will never understand why people say this.

What does that have to do with her child's behavior?

Honestly, if mom is the kind of person to use this as an excuse or explanation for her child's behavior, she really needs to stop and ask herself what that is teaching her child.

Good for you LaLa for using your backbone!
