to send my kid to school today or not?

So all schools closed around here but ours. Of course so now trying to decide wether to send my daughter to school or not. I just wish they would have closed like every other school in the towns and states around us. It would have made my decision so much easier ! Im thinking Im gonna take her to school as I don't want her riding the bus and having to wait for bus in negative 20 degree weather this morning . So Im guessing it will depend on if the baby I put down 20 minutes ago is awake. So now I have to take out a car full of kids to keep my kid warm enough to go to school. Seriously just close I feel its a little irresponsible on there part. So not sure what to do. Would you send your kid to school?

Seriously, the bus and the car and the school are all warm enough. The problem is if something goes wrong getting there. Schools are closed around here, too. If you're not comfortable sending your child, keep her home. Often, the schools are open not because they consider it safe to send the kids out, but because working parents don't have alternate care lined up.

I'm in upstate NY and our temps are just above 0 (6) but the wind chill is -30. Only one school closed, but that's in a district without transportation and all the kids walk. I know my kids would be safe once they were in school, and kept inside, so I drove them in. The bus stops at the end of my driveway and they will be fine for the run up and in the house.
If are actual temps were -15, -20,etc and we had the wind, I would have kept them home.

Our district was 2 hour late and changed to closed. If they had stayed 2 hours late, I still probably would've kept my kids home. Ds rides the bus, but the heat doesn't work well. Dd gets a ride in the morning, but not always in the afternoon so if she couldn't, she would be walking a mile-no thanks. If in doubt, I would just keep her home.
