    Made a Big Decision Today

I am going back to School Age only as of September 1st 2014.

I miss the freedom of the days off and am tired of looking at baby toys, playpens, diapers...etc.

I want my house back. I want my life back.

These last 2 weeks off have been a huge eye opener for me.

My own DS will be starting Kindy next year and it is time for me to get some time to myself.

I talked to DH tonight and he is on board. Yay! Let the crying, fighting, screaming, toilet training be done! Countdown is on....

Good for you! I have often thought about going that route but then I realized I really don't like that age so it would be more of a pain for me.

Good for you, sounds like it'll work well for your needs! I've often thought of sticking to one age group or another, mixing them is truly challenging. I'd love to go the school-age route only but then, I'd need another income during the school year.

Sm...why not change over at the end of May when school lets out? People will be looking for summer care, which you can then parlay into after-school care. You'd be done with the crying/fighting/pooping earlier, and maybe be able to take the kids on field trips over the summer.

That is really good advice Heidi. I think I actually will go that route. Makes more sense. Thanks!

I just don't know how much notice to give the DCPS. I feel a little bad since I have some that just started here in September and one DCM just had a baby and was hoping to send her DD here next October.

Congrats! I'm in the same boat except I'm closing completely. Just gave my families notice on Thursday. Someone else posted that from here on out its kind of an up and down. Today I've been really sad about it. Although, come Monday I'm sure I'll be glad again. I definitely get the mix of emotions.
Wishing you the best to come in your future! What are you going to go back to school for? Just curious.

Isn't it exciting!! I found out I was pregnant a couple of months ago and DH and I decided that I would do school age only. Summers will be a little tough but I am so looking forward to September! I have a 10 year old also so getting kids on the bus and off wont be an inconvenience for me!

                    Good luck with everything!!

I would give them 3 or 4 weeks. No more, unless you can afford to have people bailing out early.
