Winter Poem For Those That Have Snow

I just wanted to share a poem about snow and dressing the children for it. I figured that those that get snow will appreciate it. I use it with my winter curriculum but since we never actually get snow I know that my DCK's don't fully appreciate the meaning .

    "Cold Fact"
    By the time They're suited
    And scarved and booted
    And mittened and capped
    And zipped and snapped
    And tucked and belted,
    The snow has melted.

Who ever wrote that poem must not live near me. ::

I don't think our snow is going to melt until June. We have a TON!!!!

Plus with the temps being -35F (ACTUAL temp) here today, nothing is melting any time soon.

It's a really cute poem though!

I was going to say the same thing...cute, but way off base.

I heard you'd be sending that artic air our way this weekend. There are even a couple thousand Packer tickets available because even the hardiest of Cheeseheads are saying it's too cold. Oh, and don't say the Viking Fans could handle it.... I know you're NOT going to be like that.

!! not a Vikings fan. I do have two parents though that are die-hard Packer fans but that's as much about football as I care to know.

The sports I like require a gas pedal.

...and yes, I'd love to share the artic air. It's been sub-zero temps here for the last month and it looks like there is NO change in sight for a while.

The high temp this weekend is suppose to be -19F

Of course, in true MN fashion I watched a middler schooler walk past my house this morning on her way to the middle school wearing a heavy winter coat, a hat, mittens and a scarf but wearing only capri's leggings (to the knee) on her bottom half .

              I feel like that sometimes!

we have a good six inches on the ground so far and it's impressive since it doesn't seem to be snowing heavily at all...but it sure is accumulating!

I just hope I don't get "scolded" by a dcm this time for my driveway being "a solid sheet of ice and I almost hit your mailbox because I was going too fast." When I went to check (this was a few weeks ago), the driveway had a thin layer of well packed, slightly slippery layer of snow right at the bottom, but it wasn't icy. It was totally her fault.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Love it! My version, though, goes more like this:

                          "Cold Fact"

Someone has already pooped in their pants
And another has started the pee dance!
