You all are familiar with the photo release paper you hand out to take kids picture. Never thought I would have to give them out to family. We were at a gathering and I was taking pictures. I had one cousin held her son up for the picture. I upload the pictures to facebook, next think I know I get a bunch of nasty messages and comments from my cousin saying how dare I upload a picture of her son without here permission. I was so confused she held him for the picture I tagged everyone in their pictures all whom left nice comments. I don't understand what her deal was I was just lost for words.

Some people cannot be pleased. I would just remove the picture (or photoshop the child/parent out) and delete all comments pertaining to her/the child.
This is the type of person that would have been upset if you had left her kiddo out of things.- Flag

I ended up deleting it all. I just think there was a better way she could have handled that. All she had to do was send me a message asking me to take the pick down not posting ridiculous comments on my wall back to back. Half of the family have deleted her off of facebook now.- Flag

I agree that she could and should have nicely asked that you take the pictures of her child down but I would also say that we all need to be careful about posting pictures of other people or their kids to facebook without permission. My guess is, when she held up her son for his picture to be taken, she wasn't thinking it would be posted on facebook. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I have to admit that when my kids were younger, I was upset when others posted pictures of them on facebook without my permission. I think it's kind of rude not to ask, to be honest.- Flag

Your cousin went about it wrong, but I do see her point. She thought it was just a picture for you to keep I guess. But she needed to use a better method to let you know she didn't like it on FB.- Flag

I agree and furthermore, we have NO idea why the cousin was so upset. She could have a good reason for it. I have a lot of teachers in my family and they have requested that they not be photographed with alcohol and if they happen to be that it NOT be put on social media. While not the same situation exactly, it highlights that the are repercussions for what you post and the need to be careful. I think we've become way to complacent with social media and have to realize that not everyone is comfortable with it.- Flag
