    Today is Rough

Second day back. Yesterday was some sort of "honeymoon' and today the behavior is all over the map.

We have a bunch of recycling from Christmas still around, including some of the larger boxes. Including the box from 2.5 yo DS's new train set, and a few of the other toys.

5 yo DCB asked where the new trains "for him" are.
Me: "They are [DS]'s, and they are in his room with the rest of his special toys."
DCB: "Oh. well, can he share them?"
Me: 'No...DCB, you know DS doesn't have to share the toys that are in his bedroom."
DCB (who ought to know better because he's old enough and been here long enough): "DS, can I go in your room and play with your new toys?"

I intervened, obviously, and prevented that. Dcb still doesn't seem to understand that he can't go play with DS's and DD's new toys (DD's are less interesting, she's a 6 yo girl). DCB has been here for over a year and has never even SEEN DS's room, let alone played with the things in there, nor will he ever.

The other kids are tired and fussy, DCB 1.5 is screeching every time someone has to walk past him, DCG 9.5 mos is exhausted....and I'm so glad I have off tomorrow....
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

UGH! ((HUGS)) I am so not looking forward to next week. I only have Friday this week and I suspect it will be a lot like your yesterday - honeymoon phase - since the kids won't have seen each other in 2 weeks. But by Monday or Tuesday of next week it should be interesting.

I have been off since Dec. 20 so Jan. 2 should be interesting. My kids always come back having not taken a nap, and done everything "they" wanted without any sort of routine....sometimes they all come back sick when I have been closed.... BUT THE VACATION HAS BEEN WORTH ALL OF THAT!!!happyfacehappyfacehappyface

I get my two daycare babies back on Monday after being gone for three weeks (they were gone, I was still working) and that is not going to be fun. ugh, dreading it already.

I have been having the same issue with a. 4 year old dcb and the kids new Christmas presents. They are all in their rooms which is off limits. He kept asking to play with them, I kept saying no. Today during lunch he said he had to go potty again. I let him go by himself since he is old enough and I DID trust him. After a few minutes he didn't return. Found him in the kids room playing with the new toys...he broke one of them! It was a hot wheels wall track and he ripped it off the wall breaking one of the brackets.
