    Need Some Thoughts...

Trying to decide what to do.

I currently have two full timers and one part timer. During the summer months, around a 10 week period, I will lose both full timers as they are teacher's kids. I do not charge for the summer break for teacher's kids and that is not something I am willing to change. I love having these kids because they are picked up early during the year, the parents are great, and it is very common for daycares to not charge for the summer for teachers so again, that part is not changing.

I have one spot which to be honest, I really wasnt wanting to fill. I can make ends meet know and was not wanting to stretch myself too thin since I am also a full time student.

I had a mom contact me this morning for full time care for a toddler, which is more rare than not as I get so many calls for infants or for part timers. Mom was previously attending a daycare a couple blocks over with someone I know, who is now closing, and so I know this is a legit call from someone that needs care asap.

Should I extend myself right now and take the toddler in preparation for the summer without my full timers? or should I keep going as is and take the risk that I may not be able to fill these full time spots getting closer to the summer?

I think we can still swing it for the summer even if I don't find any other full timers. My husband doesn't think so so he is the one pressuring me to take as many as I can. He has always been like that so I don't trust his judgment to help me decide.

I would probably consider taking the toddler. Interview, see if they are a good fit.

I second this. It can't hurt to interview.

If an interview went well and it was a good fit, I would take the toddler. I'd rather have that extra child in case something were to happen and one of the other children that you depend on does not come back. In my experience this business can change on a dime. And if things are tight with the ones you do have, you'd be sunk if one of them did not return.
