Paint For My Air Dry Ornaments?

After the disaster salt dough, I remade ornaments with details clay and baked them to speed it up.

But I just realized that the only paint I have is crayola washable paint. My craft supplies 're pretty depleted an I'm down to that, tacky glue, and glitter. We were supposed to decorate them this afternoon.

Any ideas? Will washable paint work, or will it just come off with any moisture?

I wouldn't worry about it and just use the washable. Ornaments probably wont get much water exposure

Hope they turned out well! I also had salt dough drama (wasn't paying attention and added too much water to the last of my salt) and ended up making baking soda and cornstarch clay because it was all I had! I was so glad when I handed them out and it was over! ::

I wonder if you could paint them with the washable and then give them a coat of hair spray. I know that when we do chalk drawings, I spray them with hair spray and the chalk won't come off. It might protect the water color as well.
