Does Putting Things Outside Sanitize Them?

I was thinking of putting my pac-n-plays outside for the week I am off to air them out. They would be on our covered deck. It is freezing here. Would this kill the germs?

Most germs and similar stuff go inactive during cold temps.
Sorry to say, nothing actually dies or becomes sanitized.

I wish though! It's cold here too so it would be a super easy way to "clean" ::

I doubt it sanitizes them, but it makes me feel better when things get aired out. It has to help somehow (even if it is just psychological :

I've never heard anything about the cold air but I have heard that if you put them in direct sunlight that will kill the germs. Not sure if it has to be warm also, or just the sunlight will do it.

and if birds touch it you then have worse stuff contaminating it.

I kinda figured the germs would just go dormant and reactivate when they came back in!
