Does You Area Have Their Own Facebook Page

like if you live in a city, there is a facebook group for home daycare providers.
There isn't one where i live and I'm wondering if I should start one, but it would be a closed group.

No one network's in my area so maybe this might be a good tool to use. I am going to read in on the responses

We don't have one for just our city, but we do have one for our area (altho, it's mostly our city on it). It is a closed group just for providers. I am also on a state one that is a closed group, but for providers and parents.

we have two that are for babysitters and daycare providers to post and advertise and for families to post looking for care. They are great! I have gotten a family that way and have found some date night babysitting too.

If there is one, I haven't found it, but I'm not very Facebook savvy, either.

I wish there was a group for my area, I really miss the providers meeting (live) we used to have few years ago

there is a group on face book but you have to belong to the organization and pay a fee (they only have 40 members) but I don't want to pay or belong to that group (I use to but I don't believe in the way they run their home daycare groups and I hate fake people) I just want a group that if there is a problem parent out there we can avoid or discuss the new bill or if we know anyone in an area that needs a provider we can send them that way.

We have one for our state (Iowa) and it works really well including the whole state instead of a localized area since all of our regs are the same. It's really nice to have because if one person doesn't have room for a child we can ask if someone else does or if we term a problem client we can warn other providers (we don't use names but use hints). We also sell daycare items we no longer need, help new providers and share like on this board. The only thing that's not nice is that out of aprox. 100 members only about 20 comment on the page. We talk about private things so it can be kind of frustrating. Now if we hear someone no longer does daycare we remove them or if they never comment we remove them.

How do you find out if there is one? I don't know of one in my area, but would love it if there is one! And if not, how do you start one? I have never heard of anyone doing this, but it sounds interesting.
I've met a few providers in my area in the classes that we have to take, but don't talk to them outside of that or even see them again.

if you start a Michigan group I'd be the first to sign up but I don't do Facebook

Look at the left side of your news feed. It will say "favorites", "pages" and then "groups". Hover on "groups" and the word "more" will appear. Click on it. Now you will see "add group" at the top of the page, click on it and then "create new group" will appear, click on that. Type in a group name (include location). You don't need to add any members yet if you don't know of anyone else that does daycare in your area. Set the privacy settings to either "closed" or "secret" otherwise anyone will be able to see what members post. Now go to your towns "for sale" sites. You will usually see people advertising on those sites and you can ask them to join your daycare group. You could also look up registered/licensed providers in your area by name.
Searching for existing groups in your area can be hard as most of them have probably been set to "closed" or "secret" but just go to the search bar in the top of your news feed and type in your town name and daycare or your county name and daycare or your state name and daycare...I would try all of them and see if you can find anything then I would replace daycare with childcare and try them all again.
