Safety Cushion For Hearth Of Fireplace

I have a gas fireplace in my daycare room, it is not hooked up to the gas so basically it is just sitting there. I have seen different things advertised that go around the edges of the hearth to prevent kids from hurting themselves on the edges. Does anybody use something that they can recommend, something that really works that the kids can't just rip off??????

I have that same padding and it's been on for over 5 years. Really holds up!

I went to Joann Fabrics (craft store) and got a piece of foam padding cut to the size of my hearth and then I used spray adhesive to put fabric around it that matched my living area. Then, I sprayed the adhesive straight on the hearth (fireplace works but not well and more of a pain) and stuck it there. It has never moved since. I would also think some thick double sided sticky tape would work if you didn't want it to be on there forever.
